 You think with all the soccer I played in my life that it would seem like I would care with what is going on in Brazil but I do not. I am still more of a college basketball fan and I still have to find the time to watch that when I want to. Apparently Sheen Ringo's new song is to root for Japanese Soccer team. She does in this Punk Rock feel video called [NIPPON] I give you the review for Sheen Ringo's [Nippon].

Music

Japan having the second largest music Industry in the world is really doing its best and overcoming the Rock scene predominately held by Americans. Starting out in this song you have this loud train whistle noise starting out then you get a slide hand on an electric guitar which is the common start that this song is starting to rock. You have a beat in the background with drums that is hit to give us a fight feeling to get team Japan going. Something about rock that gets you pumped up to perform your best from the Rocky Eye of the Tiger theme to even Queens We will rock you. You get the feeling that rock was made to pump you up.These neat effects of Rock is nothing new but it brings you back to simpler rock And roll times when guys and girls could take a few chords and electric guitars and some drums and get the crowd moving, no computers, no samples of 80's new wave music and then rapping how hard your thug life  is and that you are clubbers. No one time it was guts,Mics,Guitars,drums, and Rock and Roll. Sheen Ringo's vocals sound good. It does have a feel like you are about to watch an Anime show in this song but that is okay. The music is good and gives you a fight inside to win kind of feel so it serves its purpose. I will talk about these drums I like how they give this metal sound a good Mic and I am talking about the element metal not the genre the actual pounding of metal drums feeling in this song and it helps to rally the troops in so many words as to say root root for Japan!

Video

The video is basic it is black and white and what looks like a wind machine and maybe some slow down effects to give you more a feeling. It is basic Rock N Roll and what sounds like a little classic Japanese chords. The band looks like it is dressed in Samurai dress attire. There is little homage to Japan so it is an Anthem no it is not as sexy as Korea's soccer song but who cares. It,s good to have an old fashioned Old School Rock n Roll for a change.

 I have been impressed with the nationalism and patriotism for each country in the world cup and there is nothing wrong with that to be diverse you have to diversify. Japan has their way of doing things and then we here in America have our way. There is nothing wrong with borders and tribes and loyalty the first line of diversifying is family and the most important loyalty is family. We all have differents ways of doing thing. I think it is better we stay away from each other and behind borders then cross borders trying to make us forcibly unite. I am proud to be American and I sure Sheen Ringo is proud to be Japanese and I am glad for a second in our lives we can root for our countries without blowing each other heads off. Anyways great song I love rock n roll and maybe we will get to see her do some Anime stuff in the future. I know Sheen Ringo is more of an Artist and obviously a Patriot. We will see, she has said before she will retire lets hope not too soon.

So I got to see and hear the new Psy released when it first came out. I did not immediately review because basically I thought I would be far too judgemental to give a review I went ahead and looked at other comments and this helped me get a more base and an accurate more detail review of what I would write regarding Psy's new release. I will say if I felt I did not have to review this I would not listen to this again I just had to listen to it again to figure out what to write what I want to review about in this song and I do not want to hear it again. The critiques that I have seen are not the critiques I would give toward the song. So what I am waiting for? Here is the review.

Oppa What???!!

 My first critique of American pop today is that I feel not part of the genre they forget about me the regular guy it is either songs about partying that I just do not know much about for instance when you Drink until you throw up which is about as much fun as being punched in the nose until you bleed, people who do this are stupid. This song Immediately forgets about me I can't relate I never had drunk alcohol until I threw up but I never have ever cut my ears with a case cutter until my ears bleed either but this song opens up with a horrible chant that makes me wish I was deaf. I get it. The song opening is to imitate the pounding that your head feels the next day when you drunk too much alcohol the night before. I have stubbed my toe and remembering the throbbing my toe feels but I have never wanted anyone to feel like the way I felt when I stubbed my toe on a chair by Imitating the horrible throbbing pain through music. That is the way the opening of Hangover feels like and it makes me wish I was deaf. The music can only be described as bad. It is pounding metallic drums and keyboards that have been used before on cheap yamaha keyboards and a little reggae feel in between that is a good break other than that this music is horrible. It is bad. Okay let me get to the good parts there is nothing wrong with G-dragon or Psy or even Snoop doggy dogg's rapping in this seriously. They are good but could not they for the Millions of dollars they spent on the video or outfits buy better music. Cannot Psy hire the London Orchestra? Could Psy not get the best DJ in the world and then rap to something. You see the thing about rap you do not have to worry about chord progression and melody means nothing you just have to rap to the tempo simple as that. Why in God's green Earth did you pick this music Psy????

 There is nothing wrong with this video it is funny and I get the song is supposed to be funny but I would have picked Weird Al instead of Snoop Dogg to team with my opinion but it is humorous and I hope kids learn that Alcohol is not a good drug by watching but we will see. The old Korean Ladies are funny and it is clever and the Karaoke scene and G-dragon all that is fun to watch and right now I am watching the video with the sound down because again the music is awful. The point is the video is to get you the feeling of a night of partying with snoop dogg and Psy. We have a retelling of many stories about drinking You see Psy's head in the toilet and a shot of him and Snoop dogg brushing his teeth to get the vomit taste out of his mouth to the feeling of being on a ship to remind us what a drunk feels like when he has been drinking to much well this video does capture the after effects of drinking and the funny story from the night before which leads to the Hangover, Hangover, Hangover.

Ten youtube dancer responses

You do not have to like to cosplay to dance J-pop and K-pop

 I had mentioned previously that I like Heavy Metal type music and I do love a good electric guitar with a loud stadium snare. I am glad the new Metal Industrial artist do dress up nicely. That is what I liked to do when I was younger give me a suit and a microphone over a black t-shirt with some band name on it and you have me but when I was younger metal bands did not dress up I liked the short hair and a nice suit so I was never considered to be a headbanger why? Because I Did not fit your image of what you think a headbanger is. I hate stereotypes I really do and where in the heck did we get to the point that you have to dress and look a certain part to sing and dance a certain type of music? I love certain types of music but I never will worship the artist they are all just flawed creatures just like you and me and in many cases they are up there performing because they just put more time into doing what they love doing. I would never use the word fan I just play this kind of music because I like it.Fan is short for the word for fanatic. It may be my interest my study or even my preference fanaticism is for the mentally deranged just my opinion. I get a lot of people who ask why I posted certain videos in the past my response will always be about mainly two reasons One is for me or the other is basically for you the viewer. I think that some youtube users want views so he or she post his or hers videos to get more views He or She might ask what the viewers want so they start changing the videos to appeal to the viewers. I have been there I do that as well and then I also post because it is fun and challenging I like to see sometimes where I can push the limit and it is fun there are some risk sometimes to lose viewers but I have to ask myself did I like it? If I did then what does it matter what others think and that is how I feel.

 When I started getting my own footage for the Toru Takanuru channel I went to a local Anime convention and looked for J-pop dancers and K-pop dancers because I watched youtube dancers and they would go to conventions. I met even Vocaloid cosplayers who did not know J-pop that confused me it really did but I wanted footage and so I began the whole cosplay filming for the channel. I just started to assume that there were no dancers at cons that way I was never disappointed but that changed. I believe if we continued  to get footage there would be no time for both dancers and cosplayers but hey My priority were dancers.

 I knew there were starting to be splits at anime conventions and it bothered me that the jelly girls would get so mad that we were filming and dancing in the hallways but this is where we could meet so if this was the place we could get together we were going take advantage. The Lolita Fashion Enthusiast were the first Split I knew who were going to get away from "Close Minded" conventions. I read about a convention that was starting just for them on a forum I believe it was going to be in Atlanta. I know it is hard to please everyone at an anime and Sci Fi convention. I knew the excitement of the music of J-pop and K-pop would have to have their own meets because lets face it when you dance to K-pop we do not usually dress up sometimes the outfits could get in the way of the performance. There are two Conventions that I think that American J-pop dancers should attend One is the J-pop summit Festival and the other would be Idol Matsuri these are great places for young and old Kawaii Dancers that are so so cute.How friendly are they to the K-pop dancers? I do not know. I think if I get a convention going it will be in Chicago and it will be devoted to all youtube dancers and I think we really need to open our doors to all youtube dancers. I think if we really get everyone it will open our door to a larger convention and meet. The Idol Matsuri convention does not have a large following and I think it is because it is devoting its place to J-pop Idols and not really expanding out while at the same time K-pop dancers on youtube are doing workshops for large audiences in Australia. I think it is hard to run a con on J-pop idols alone.
 I can see that meets are fun and really the professional way of doing this without upsetting Anime fans and I think it is the only way to achieve what you need in multiple takes for video and dancing goals. I think the only way we can assure a good meet is if incentives are involved. I really do not see me departing too far from this community and the chances keep popping up to grow my outreach of being in the J-pop and K-pop dance community is always there.

스마일지 Smile.G - 뚜비두밥 DoBiDoBob Review The Butt Song edition!

Many entertainers have been noticed for many different reasons. You might remember musicians for their instruments they play or style of clothing. I do not know how I would want to be perceived if I was debuting as a group but to me DoBiDOBop will be forever to me remembered as the butt song of Smile. G. We will take a look and closely examined this new group of young ladies who have graced our presence in the K-pop world. I will now give you a review of DoBiDoBop.

Music

 Okay we start off with a nice reverb acoustic snare to get us going. Then we have a na na na vocals to get us going and for padding we repeat the na na na vocals we need this song to be at least 4:00 minutes dang it! This is a jazz swing beat to me mixed with a little rock n roll. It is fast and I am used to the brass presence of AKB48 and in some cases I think about J-pop when I listen to this because it is catchy and fun and there is nothing wrong with this musically. It is better produced musically in my opinion than the last AKB48 song I reviewed. It is a very simple song and it is pop what you expect Bach? Do I like them going back to the jazz feel ? Yes I do . I get tired of electronic music a lot of times my self. Even if the brass or drums are sampled they sound like they were originally recorded quite well. I think they did well in padding out the music so it would last longer with vocals and with jazz sounding electric guitars good job. I could see listening to this song again but hey I like jazz and brass music.

First what is with this thirty second comic book intro? I can understand an intro being tiresome after watching something so many times but I was tired of this Introduction the first time I clicked on it. Okay we are going to have a comic Intro that tells me nothing! I guess the girls origins where they were a gift and we see a tiny picture about the emoticon butts. Okay so we start out so innocent you know the girls act like cheerleaders or whatever the heck they are supposed to be well I am excited now I am into it. Then we focus on the girls butt for about ten second with a little focus on the Emoticons that are covering the butts.I never seen such detail on butts since I do not know Hyuna Bubble pop oh you did not think I was going down that road did ya? I did go down that road and I took you there with me big time. Okay on the Cheer outfits they have numbers on the front I think the numbers and the emoticons are so we can Identify the young ladies. We get a vocal pass off in the verse at least they are not rapping thank you K-pop!. There are some great live shots in the street they remind me of downtown Tokyo or even downtown New York and I like it looks like they have audience participation even if it is not live I bet this group is fun live or are they? Okay listening to the english lyrics Shake it or Move it does not give me the same feeling as I do watching it.When I am Watching the video I feel like I am watching a Dang commercial now! We are back focusing on the butts again or the emoticons I give up at this time. Why because now I realize I must be watching a video to make sure to get my butt examined I guess. Is this a Proctology commercial? You know make sure you get your butt checked out regularly. Now we get creepy we see these guys actually filming the butt emoticons. This kind of creeps me out it reminds me traveling anime and sci fi convention around the states. You always remember the guys who just enjoy filming sexy cosplayers way too much. You know the guys with the phone trying to get all the cleavage and butts they can. Okay after this just more repetitive verse and butt moving.The dance is very energetic and looks fun. Now here is the question now that I need a shower watching this video is it creepy or is it fun? Is it sexy or is it goofy? I really think they were going for a showgirl thing you know innocent and naughty. If you watch the opening of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom you will see something like this of course DoBiDoBop feels naughtier. The video fails because naughty changes all the time. I mean you would have to be real old to remember this type of naughty.I think the whole idea is to get your attention so the next video that Smile.G does comes out with, you will watch it and see where the group will go artistically. The video is already is getting mixed views but people are watching and that is what they wanted. I think they will tone down less on the butt focus on the next video because I already see the hate with the butt focus. We might see the emoticons but with them wearing Sweatsuits I do not know. They have numbers so they might focus more on the numbers we will find out in the next one with Wassup already out taking the sexiness by storm I cannot see the Butt girls of Smile.G staying this way I think they will get more silly but we will see. It is hard I know to be a serious group when you go this way and if I was a singer or dancer I do not know how I would feel about an emoticon posted to my butt and moving it around.
